IX - The Hermit

The Hermit is high in the mountains, a very isolated region. The night is dark, but very starry. He holds a lamp to light the way. The Hermit has his eyes closed as he seeks something that is actually within himself. He wants to understand his inner challenges and his true essence. Here, away from everyone, he manages to realize that internally, somehow, he is connected to the Cosmos, he has something more than everyday life. His quest is to understand himself, his lantern seeks his inner sun. The tilted hourglass indicates that time passes very slowly here. With his long staff the Hermit makes a circular drawing trying to decipher the enigmas he perceives externally and feels internally.

Symbolism: slowness of time, solitude, research, inner search, wisdom.

Convergences between the Hermit and the transition from Leo to Virgo: motivation to understand oneself, energy and persistence for a deep understanding of complex issues.
